Breizon

Irish seafood company Breizon has been acquired by Mericq Group, a major player in the fresh seafood industry in France.

Based in Rossaveal, County Galway, Breizon has been supplying live, fresh, frozen and cooked shellfish for over 40 years. The company’s fresh and frozen seafood is sold in supermarkets across Ireland under the brand name, Window to the Sea. Breizon also exports shellfish to Europe and China.

It is expected that the acquisition of Breizon will further open up the European market to Mericq Group and will strengthen their position in the European seafood market.

A Philip Lee team, including Jonathan Kelly, Eoghan Doyle and Hugo Grattirola, was pleased to act for the shareholders of Breizon on this transaction.
